On the run from Egypt As a wanted man A stranger sat beside a well Some women of the land Brought their sheep for water The pastures all were dry The stranger lent the girls a hand One woman caught his eye Zipporah was the woman at the well When Moses looked upon her, he could tell Here was the lady of his life God had matched man and wife Moses found his woman at the well

Abraham was anxious His forty-year-old son Still had no wife, so Abraham Would help to find him one He sent a servant searching No certain girl in mind Till by a well the servant saw What he'd been sent to find Rebecca was the woman at the well And when that servant saw her, he could tell Isaac was one lucky man Waitin' back in Canaan Land She was Isaac's woman at the well

Isaac and Rebecca In their later life Sent their son from Canaan Land To find himself a wife He dreamt along the way About a stairway to the sky Later he came to a well And who should happen by Rachel was the woman at the well When Jacob looked upon her, he could tell Here was the lady of his life God had matched man and wife Jacob found his woman at the well

I have read the Bible Since I was a kid I can sure identify With what those fellows did Like them I was searching In need of something more And thank the Lord He helped me find What I was searching for Darling, you're my woman at the well The first time that I saw you, I could tell Here was the lady of my life God had matched man and wife I had found my woman at the well You're the lady of my life I'm so blest that you're my wife Darling, you're my woman at the well
